It was Graduation day for the children at the Boys and Girls Club! Here is a picture of just some of the amazing second graders who completed all of my Money Smart Tool Box Kit Lessons! They were thrilled to take home their Money Smart Kits to their parents which will provide them with the tools they need to reinforce the lessons they learned. They also loved their little piggy banks which were provided by 1st National Bank in Wisconsin. I saw big changes in the way these children talk about money and when I did their post tests I was thrilled to see their money skills had grown! When I first starting teaching these children their attitudes about money were pretty negative they saw it as something they did not have which is very sad. Today these children are hopeful for a good future they love to talk about money and they love to tell you what they learned and what they will do with the money they earn and receive. I am blessed to have spent each week with them it means the world to me!
To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48) If we are blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, time and the like, it is expected that we use these well to glorify God and benefit others. My mother’s experience of becoming homeless at the age of 67 provided me with a gift of knowledge that I am using to Champion the cause to break the generational cycle of financial illiteracy! By making "Money Smart Kids" and Raising up a Generation of Savers 1 Generation at a time!
